Shailesh is the former Chairman and CEO of Providian Financial, which he built from a small team into a Fortune 300 company - one of the country's top ten credit card issuers. Prior to Providian, Shailesh was Executive VP of AmeriTrust (now KeyCorp), the largest bank in Ohio at the time. Upon leaving Providian in 2000, Shailesh joined WestBridge Capital (Sequoia Capital India) as Operating General Partner, where he invested in India and served on the boards of Indecomm and FirstSource (still current). Shailesh then served as GP with Invesco. Prior boards include Providian, MasterCard, PayPal and Hanover Direct; he is currently on the board of AccountNow (payments startup). He founded the SJM School of Management at IIT-Bombay, and was appointed a Trustee of Cal State University. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from IIT-Bombay, and a PhD in Operations Research from Case Western Reserve.
Sameet founded Cisco Systems' India venture capital effort in August 2004. Sameet recruited a team of three professionals reporting to him, and led the effort with $100 million of committed capital and five investments completed in mobile technology, content, digital media, IT services and diversified media. Sameet has served on the board of Nimbus Communications and as a board observer with IndiaGames and Bharti Telesoft. Prior to founding the India effort at Cisco, Sameet worked on M&A and investments for Cisco in the US, including the acquisition of Linksys which brought Cisco into the home networking market. Sameet holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, and an MBA from Stanford University.
Kamil founded HiTek ventures in 1995 and has since invested in 25 companies, with 8 exits (thus far) ranging from 0.8x to 30x. Additionally, with his 30 years of operating and entrepreneurial experience in the software industry, Kamil's involvement is at the company-building stage of the businesses in which he has invested. Four of the companies have significant operations in India (Soma Networks, IPUnity, FusionOps and XStor Medical). Kamil is on the Board of the America India Foundation, a Trustee of UC Santa Cruz, and a Trustee of the Aligarh University Endowment in India . Kamil has served on the faculty at IIT-Delhi and Stanford University ; he holds an MS in Engineering from MIT and a PhD in Engineering from UC Berkeley.
Sharad Dadbhawala is associated with Granite Hill India Opportunities Fund as the Consulting CFO since June 2008. As a Finance professional he brings over 30 years of experience from manufacturing, services, entertainment and publishing industries.
He has been actively involved in raising institutional finance, negotiating strategic partnerships, tax planning and conducting training programs. He is also engaged with the local community activities.
Sharad has earned his MBA from the prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai in India. He also received his Bachelor's in Accounting and Audit from the same University.
Sharad obtained his Chartered Accountant credentials in 1978. He has served on the Board of Studies of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Rahil most recently founded TailoredTech to help startups build unique web and mobile experiences. Prior to joining Granite Hill, Rahil spent 5 years in New York. He has worked at Deloitte Consulting in New York where his primary role was to implement scalable systems for clients. At Deloitte, Rahil focused on and developed a strong skill-set in interfacing with clients to understand their requirements and strategizing solutions that would cater to them. He now serves on the board of one of our portfolio companies, Gama Entertainment. Rahil holds a Bachelors degree in Finance and Management and minors in Entrepreneurship and Computer Science from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Shraddha was most recently part of the promoter group of Asian Electronics, Ltd., India, a family-controlled business. Forming a part of the core management team, Shraddha actively participated in restructuring the organization, streamlining the operations, and managing over 60 employees. Prior to returning to India in 2007, Shraddha spent five years at Deutsche Bank in New York. She worked in the telecommunications and media investment banking team on M&A and financing transactions, including the sale of AT&T's stake in Idea Cellular. Shraddha also worked on the proprietary trading desk conducting fundamental research to generate trade ideas for long/short and even-driven strategies, maintaining a book of $20-25 million.

Talat is a general partner of HiTek ventures where she also invests and works closely with portfolio companies. Talat previously co-founded and sold Prometrix to Tencor (in turn sold to KLA for $1.3 billion netting 30x for Prometrix investors); she co-founded and sold Sensys Instruments to Thermawave for $89 million, achieving 14x for investors. Talat is a Trustee of AIF (America India Foundation) and the Board Chair of the India Community Center. She serves on the boards of three of her portfolio companies - Molecular Imprints (Nanotech), Metrosol (Semi equipment) and XStor (Electronic Medical Records). She holds a BA/MA in Physics from Oxford University, UK.
